The picture with two wheels in it is the drive (left) and idler (right)
wheels lying on the plywood bottom of the tank. The picture showing four
wheels, two in the foreground and two in the background, are to show you
the wheel assemblies. A piece of angle iron was bolted to the bottom with
one edge sticking out below the tank, then the wheel assemblies were bolted
to that edge. The wheels are from Surplus Center, in pairs and each pair
separated by a PVC spacer. There are 28 wheels: 4 drive, 4 idler, and 20
road wheels. I set the plywood piece intended to support the turret on for
looks, with a cutout of the turret bottom on top and a lazy susan roller in
between. The pic is just a side view. The wheels are a bit undersized, but
I guess that's what I've got to go with. Finally, there is the picture of
the inside. Visible are the two drive motors ("kiddie car") and all the
angled boards and stuff I attached to facilitate holding on the outside
pieces. Well, it's time for me to turn in, so hope you enjoy the pictures.
