Thank you Mullin family for an outstanding venue. I hope that you had as much
fun as we did.

It was a beautiful day in northern Maryland .Blue skies, puffy clouds and
sentinel geese and shepherds patrolling the grounds. Rain from previous days,
or even early morning had made for some nice bog like tank traps. The ground
looked fine, until your boot was ankle deep in muck. FANTASTIC . So of course
as soon as the Abomination was ready I had to traverse said ground. Initial
test results said , No Problemo.  Needless to say it was a false sense of
security.

Crossing bridges or fording the creek really gave a sense of invading the
opfors territory.  And in battle number 1 we did so at will. Battle 1 required
capture of the flag near the enemy base and returning said flag to your home
base. It also required moving across the central bridge. I'll let some of the
others fill in the details. I will say that during my dash across, after
terrifying the bofors crew protecting the bridge I almost skittered off the
bridge and into the creek.
At one point in the battle I did get stuck in one of the bogs and was pushed
out by Will's SU.

Battle 2 involved gold capture , cattle round-up and finding the alien remains
from Roswell. Well, the first  2 are correct. Unfortunately for Team
Aaaaarnhem, we had only one tank in service due to the SU and Hetzer suffering
unrepairable breakdowns. That left Team Aaaaaaarnhem with only the Abomination,
the Navarone gun and Bazooka Joe.  Oh yeah, yesterday was a first. A one man
operational single shot bazooka. Job well done Mike. Mike had just finished
Bazooka Joe around 2 AM .For just this battle we allowed Mike a full kill for
landing one hit. He scored one on Doug's Tiger. And from what I heard later
scared Frank quite a few times . Luckily for Frank the shots were wide and
high. I look forward to seeing Bazooka Joe at Gettysburg next month.

Near the end of battle 2 Steve switched sides and we decided to invade and
recapture the cow herd. At his moment, deep in enemy territory my Abomination
decided to teach me a lesson. The left front drive sprocket was not straight
but had a 30 degree camber. I was able to drive off the field and back to the
main staging area. There I found that the nylon nuts had backed away enough so
that one bolt came out completely, it's somewhere in the field , and the others
were so loose that the sprocket could pull away from it's mount.  LESSON
learned. You cannot reuse nylon lock nuts.
