"wish i could do that
have a tank like that"

Back in 64 the Soviets obtained a pre-release copy of the Fantastic Voyage
movie. A mistranslation of the accompanying documentation stated
"documentary" instead of movie. Not knowing much about such things but
wanting to solidify his role as the new Premier of the USSR in the
scientific circles, Brezhnev ordered a duplicate Soviet effort
in miniaturization. The T-34 highlighted in the Youtube video is a result
of that program. Though they were never able to achieve the 10,000:1
reduction target, they were, unlike the American effort in the movie, able
to achieve a permanent state of miniaturization. The crew of the tank and
other test subjects were never officially heard from again, but it's
said the Borlov family of little people, a very popular Siberian sideshow
attraction up to the fall of the Soviet Union, were members and descendants
of the test subjects. Where they are today? No one really knows but it's
rumored some of the troop may have migrated to Japan. Today, Borlov can
sometimes be seen in the closing credits in the latest crop of Mothra and
Godzilla movies coming out of Japan.
