Thanks for the kind thoughts...
Speaking of shades of participation this holiday season, my wife and I will
be putting up a tree this weekend, and it's more her thing than it is mine
surprisingly, despite me being raise RC, and her parents choosing not to
raise their kids with a religion (mixed religion marriage thing...). And
the odd thing is, is that it was my wife that weaned my whole family off the
gift giving side of the holiday!! And yet her desire to put up a tree,
profound, to say the least. Her family used to exchange checks... very
boring, ho-hum, but rather relaxing knowing that all your Christmas
"shopping" is done sitting at the kitchen table, pen in hand!! It's quite
the sight seeing but two gift wrapped pieces of "paper" beneath our tree!!
Actually, we don't write checks to each other... LOL.
I guess the events in Connecticut has me in a musing state of mind...
Incredibly sad, that this mightiest of nations cannot find a reasonable
answer to this heinous violence...
Ah, this was supposed to be a happy posting...
All I can wish for this season, other than a solution... is for the idiots
that run the NHL to somehow salvage a season of hockey.
May all who take interest in this zany hobby share the love and peace this
festive season has to offer.
