I had been looking at this for over two years before I found this link. I guess that I am on the right track for my own similar CHEAP system design around a simple reversable scooter controller. Its a bit different from the Unidirectional design, but Im trying to keep the parts down to a minimum and make it easy for newcommers to make their own.
