Last time I checked this was R/C tank combat, not air combat. Aircraft have been discussed in the past, from Zeppelins to paintball armed helo's. I'd personally vote against aircraft from a safety standpoint. Using two ground vehicles, one to laser designate for the other is intriguing and would be interesting to see in action. The plan is ambitious and we've seen many ambitious plans in the past. If your really serious, I'd recommend starting with a phased approach, first building one asset or the other (artillery piece or a mobile vehicle) to get on the battle field quicker. If you follow through with phase one, this will tell you that you have what it takes to be an R/C tank combatant and by participating in a battle or two, you'll learn what really works and what doesn't.
