I used flex tubing a ways back in the original Tiger turret and it will work if you have enough space. But, instead of using a length capable of holding all 40 paint balls, I recommend you use a length capable of holding 20 paint balls or so, and then add a small hopper on the end to hold the remaining 20 paint balls. The hopper makes it *much* easier to refill the magazine and the tube holding 20 paint balls makes the feed reliable. Basically, you will always be able to fire 20 paint balls in a row without a load failure. During that time, you have 20 chances that a paint ball will fall from the hopper into the tubing. With normal tank motion and the recoil from the marker, there is usually enough hopper movement to shake things through. Blockages can happen every now and then with any collection of uniform spheres (I think there's actually a mathematical proof of that somewhere in the geometry world), but with a sufficiently long tube, the probability of keeping the tube filled approaches 100%. The Tiger and both PzIIs use sections of copper / aluminum tubing between the hopper and marker that hold between 10-20 paint balls. With the measurements requested, John and Paul can tell you how to convert their design (which is one of the most compact being used) to fit your turret using the hopper and tube approach.

I just did some more measurements and I think I can swing a flex PVC
pipe with all 40 balls in a serial loop. Gonna get some flex PVC
tomorrow when the stores re-open. I started this tank almost 4 years
ago before I went to Kandahar so it's about time it was a fully
operational tank. I'm off until Monday so I'm hoping to get some stuff
sorted on it.
