I don't think that the laser system was put to use during the event. During the first scenario (It Takes A Village), the FOA was attacking the village defenses in general and the venerable Tiger-1 in specific.

Attacks on the town always start at a distance and Steve started on the east side of the town, sitting in bright sun-light. The Tiger-1 was inside of town, in the shade, tucked in behind some trees and shrubs. No laser indicator was spotted on the Tiger at that time.

With Tyng at the controls, it's only a matter of time before he makes one of his famous charges at the opponent (which is usually the Tiger), using high-speed and fast shooting to his advantage. That charge came in short order with the FOA Tiger racing around a large tree in a counter-clockwise rotation. Tiger-1 raced around an adjacent stand of smaller trees in the same counter-clockwise rotation. With both combatants running to keep up with their vehicles and trying to shoot the other tank in the tail, a loud thunk and the FOA Tiger bouncing backwards was unexpected. The FOA Tiger hit a small, but sturdy pine tree head on and bounced back just as promised by physical laws. While both Steve and I laughed at the situation, Steve mumbled that "the Cromwell would have gone over it".

Perhaps, adapting the laser for collision avoidance is warranted :-)

I'm still waiting for Tyng Tech report on the use of the laser in
combat, wondering if "Stephen 'Tyng' Wittman" was able to use this
feature against opponents in the thick of combat?
