i wonder if there's a way to add onto that? with the way it's shown in the  
picture i take it, it has a worm gear that sends power to the two 
clutches...  what if the shaft where to be extended further (the worm gear)  
past 
where  is stops now to another worm gear that goes to a set of gears that 
reverses  the out put shaft to turn, from there power another set of clutches.
 
that should work.

drive one track forwards, the quickly switch which clutch is  engaged and

well no,  you could run the motor in reverse to reverse the tank. Neutral 
steering  could be a problem, as you would either have one track stopped and 
the  other moving, or you would have to switch the clutch thats engaged and  
motor direction quickly.
