almost got what i was thinking.
 
i was thinking more on the lines of attaching plywood to the face of it (by 
 rope or pull ties) and having 2 openings at the bottom that would allow 
tanks to  make it to the next field after taking out the foot soldiers that 
would be in  the way (maybe some artillery pieces).
 
or something like that
 
at the last battle, i was looking at 2 of the trees thinking it would be  
interesting to attach some plywood to the two if them with an open slot for 
an  artillery piece to poke throught.

I  expect this fence could be more suited to hold back a pony  perhaps.
