Doug, My students love the EasyDriver from Sparkfun for smaller steppers. It can do up to 30V 700mA per phase. https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12779 They like the BigEasy for larger steppers. It can do up to 30V 2A per phase with heat sink. https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12859 I have a prototype turret rotate that uses EasyDriver, NEMA 17 stepper 9 inch Lazy Susan, 16T 25P chain sprocket/hub and 80T custom ring gear cut by waterjet. http://www.mpja.com/Stepper-Motor-NEMA-17-12V/productinfo/18734%20MS http://www.leevalley.com/US/wood/page.aspx?p=44014&cat=1,250,43298,43316 https://www.servocity.com/html/aluminum_hub_mount_sprockets__.html https://www.servocity.com/html/0_770__set_screw_hubs.html I will try to send some pictures next week.
