Please excuse my asking this on Autocat, RDA-L, and MARC.
If/when RDA records begin arriving from national cataloguing agencies,
and SLC as a local cataloguing agency adopts some aspects for original
records (e.g., end of rule of three including entry under first
author, new form of entries for books of the Bible, 336-338 replacing
245$h), but not others (e.g., loss of ISBD abbreviations, lack of
jurisdictional qualification in imprint), we would of course code
LDR/18 = i. But should we code 040$erda?
Would exporting [338 : 336] as 245$h for libraries which wish it,
and/or stripping out 100$e and 700$e when requested, warrant removing
040$erda?
We are thinking of using 040$erda, but removing if exporting [338 :
336] as 245$h. "Language of the catalogue" will vary among
cataloguing agencies. We would consider ours to be at least in part
Latin :-{)}.
