I don't know how we can know this at this time, since there is as yet no carrier for RDA. The important thing is to create a carrier that can express all of the distinctions of those variations. Like the posting I did about uniform title, what may be *conceptually* the same in the cataloging rules may need to be coded differently for different machine-based uses. Creating that data model for RDA will be a challenge, but if it is done thoughtfully we can actually do better than we do in MARC today.
