Here at Kent State University, we're on the verge of beginning to catalog
originally in RDA. We have a semi-automated cataloging process in place for
cataloging ETDs (electronic theses and dissertations), where a "cataloging bot"
goes out and grabs student-supplied metadata from the OhioLINK ETD Center
website, and populates a provisional record in MARC. Then a cataloger checks
and fills in the parts manually that can't be done automatically. This
provisional record template is in AACR2. I'm tasked with creating a
provisional record template in RDA, so our systems librarian can make the
necessary changes to the cataloging bot to provide future ETD provisional
records in RDA.

I have created a rough-draft template for ETDs in RDA, and one practice ETD in
RDA. Being new at original cataloging in RDA, though, I'd greatly appreciate
it if one or two people familiar with both RDA and electronic resources would
check it for errors and omissions. It would be icing on the cake if they could
be reviewed by December 17th, so our systems librarian could make the changes
before he leaves on extended vacation.

Please contact me privately if you're willing.

Thank you very much.
