Hi, all I have a question about recoding a title proper of a part of resource and the larger resource for an analytical description.
RDA 1.5.3, types of description, shows that the larger resource may be recorded in a series statement, related work, or related manifestation. When using an analytical description, details relating to the larger resource or to other parts of the resource may be recorded in any of the following ways that are applicable: a) as a series statement (see 2.12<http://access.rdatoolkit.org/document.php?id=rdachp2&target=rda2-7630#rda2-7630> ) b) as a reference to a related work (see 25.1<http://access.rdatoolkit.org/document.php?id=rdachp25&target=rda25-69#rda25-69>) c) as a reference to a related manifestation (see 27.1<http://access.rdatoolkit.org/document.php?id=rdachp27&target=rda27-45#rda27-45> ). RDA 2.3.2.6 tells us recording the collective title for the larger resource as a series title. Record the collective title for the larger resource as a series title (see 2.12.2<http://access.rdatoolkit.org/document.php?id=rdachp2&target=rda2-7759#rda2-7759> ). Optional Addition <http://access.rdatoolkit.org/document.php?id=lcpschp2&target=lcps2-337#lcps2-337> Record the collective title for the larger resource as the title of a related work (see 25.1<http://access.rdatoolkit.org/document.php?id=rdachp25&target=rda25-69#rda25-69> ). So the solution should be recoding the title of the larger resource in 490 field and/or having an authorized access point in 8xx field. Is that right? But under AACR2, most of time I use 773 fields instead of 490. I feel that 773 fields make more sense. Can I use 773 fields under RDA? Thank you.
