"cartographic image"

Does this mean "map"? If so, why not say "map"?

"cartographic three-dimensional form"

Does this mean "globe"? If so, why not say so?
How can a "form" be other than three-dimensional?

"tactile three-dimensional form"

What might this be? A form one touches has to be three-dimensional,
doesn't it? Would one use this for a chess set for example, even
though it is more than a "form"?

"object"

I could see using this for a rock, but for a Kobo or other equipment?

The RDA media terms include ones for resources I've not encountered in
over 50 years of cataloguing, and lacks terms for resources
encountered on a regular basis.

Seems to me we could have revised the GMDs with known terms, perhaps
[carrier : content] compound ones, and been more helpful to users.

Grumble.
