In Debian-edu/Skolelinux we uses rdiff-backup for backup purposes. We have a framework on top (called slbackup), that also has it's bug, but what happens is that we have some users that create _very_ long names for folders and names, even with spaces and characters outside normal US-charset.
At some point, one of the folders containing the name long name was removed, and then tho whole backup fails. The problem is that the only fix we know of is to move the old set aside, and then start over again. for more details, please have alook at http://bugs.skolelinux.no/show_bug.cgi?id=1003 If you cant read the bugreport there, please tell me, and I'll forward the complete mail here. -- Finn-Arne Johansen [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://bzz.no/ Debian-edu developer and Solution provider _______________________________________________ rdiff-backup-users mailing list at [email protected] http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/rdiff-backup-users Wiki URL: http://rdiff-backup.solutionsfirst.com.au/index.php/RdiffBackupWiki
