Hi,

I am using rdiff-backup to handle backups of both linux and WinNT4 systems to a
linux machine.

I'm hitting the error below for a set of files on the WinNT4 machine ("Text
file busy") - looks like the files are in use, and so the NT share refuses
access to the file. I get the same error trying to access the files directly
via samba - so the problem with this file is not rdiff-backup specific.

As we aren't too bothered about the files in question, I just decided to
exclude them (using --include-globbing-filelist .rdiff-backup).

However, even though the files should be ignored, I am still getting errors for
these files (printed to stderr, and counted in the rdiff-backup statistics). I
suspect rdiff-backup is doing an initial "find" type operation which hits the
samba error, and it won't be until later that the exclusion comes in to play
(though I haven't looked at the code to confirm this theory!).

This sounds like a bug - surely if the files are explicitly excluded, there is
no reason to count this as an error?

If you agree this is a bug, do you have a way to track the problem? I could
probably take a look into fixing it some time, though without having looked at
the code I don't know how tricky it would be to fix.

Cheers,
Anthony
