The patch only uses the python functions if it's running on windows, because some of the modules are not available in Python 2.2. When we drop 2.2 support, I'd argue that the python functions should be used all the time.


I applied this one to CVS right after you sent it. Sorry for not emailing the list. I'll try to get to the other ones this weekend.
