@Andreas, @Josh:
Thanks, i was making it confusing...

One other question:
Suppose i have a dir called backupForSometime inside the directory to
be backuped. Now after a year or so, i decide to not to backup that
directory any longer, say i don't need it now. How can i remove it
previous backups?

Real Scenario:
I was backing up /var/exports from the fileserver to /var/backups on
backup server. There i had /var/exports/ISOs directory, with time i
realised that its not worth the backup. I want to exclude that (i know
how to do that), and remove any earlier backups of this directory
without effecting the rest of earlier backups of stuff inside
/var/exports.
