Thanks for the reply Dominic, 1: There is no rdiff-backup-data folder (or any folder with 'rdiff' in it's name) in the source directory. 2: Yes, the two backup destinations share a parent folder. 3: Yes, the account has the correct permissions for the destination. I have also run rdiff-backup -l on the folder while logged in as root on the destination machine and it gives the same error, if running it as root would matter.
The backup itself actually runs as root from the source machine via the ssh config file and a 'command="rdiff-backup ..." setup on the destination, so permissions should never be an issue for writing the files. The files themselves still have the source ownership/privileges of course. -Matt +---------------------------------------------------------------------- |This was sent by mmostel...@shinesystech.com via Backup Central. |Forward SPAM to ab...@backupcentral.com. +---------------------------------------------------------------------- _______________________________________________ rdiff-backup-users mailing list at rdiff-backup-users@nongnu.org https://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/rdiff-backup-users Wiki URL: http://rdiff-backup.solutionsfirst.com.au/index.php/RdiffBackupWiki
