hi,

backing up my home directory is very ineffective, lots of small files and not so many changes. it would be much nicer if rdiff-backup uses inotify or something in that direction to only look at files that were accessed.

i did not find what i was looking for with google, is there something like that out there?

would it be possible to backup /home/myuser with rdiff-backup once and then later only run
rdiff-backup --include-globbing-filelist somefile

somefile being the file listing all the changed files that were watched by the kernel.
or would that confuse rdiff-backup?

greetings
