Hi Patrik, Why are you using rdiff-backup ? There were 4 strong reasons for our choice: Platform agnostic (use on Windows & *nix) Runs via SSH so minimal security/admin overhead Instant access to a mirror copy of the origin for our most common need Ability to easily add monitoring via bash scripts etc
How does it compare to other backup software ? Prefer the powerful simplicity of Rdiff-backup compared to bloated commercial equivalents we've looked at. Google drive as a destination is one additional, useful, feature Duplicity offers. Keep up the good work, Eric especially. It is appreciated. Hope this helps John Date: Wed, 24 Mar 2021 08:44:15 -0400 From: Patrik Dufresne <pat...@ikus-soft.com> To: Rdiff Backup <rdiff-backup-users@nongnu.org> Subject: Why are you using rdiff-backup? I'm a strong user of rdiff-backup and I clearly don't need to be convinced to use rdiff-backup. But I would like to hear what our users have to say on the subject. Why are you using rdiff-backup ?
