cross-platform backup tool Moving a directory

If I move /oldroot/share to /share and change the path in the backup 
command, will the backups continue as if the source hadn't moved?

Old commmand:
rdiff-backup -v 3 /oldroot/share /backup/rdiff/share
New command:
rdiff-backup -v 3 /share /backup/rdiff/share
