Hello, I deploy rdiff-backup for a few major main directories (source).
One of these main folders on backup media causes problems according to rdiff-backup -v9 --check-destination-dir /mnt/usbdisk/FOLDER The most recent error message is: EOFError: Compressed file ended before the end-of-stream marker was reached The problems are NOT with rdiff-backup, but with *rdiff-backup-delete*, that is I can successfully backup files from source directories to backup media, but I am *not able to delete files* on backup media with rdiff-backup-delete. Checking *.gz files on backup media: Running find /mnt/usbdisk/FOLDER/rdiff-backup-data -name '*.gz' | xargs gzip -vt creates a list of about 50,000 entries. Half of these entries carry "OK" in them, the other half complain about "No such file or directory". Questions: 1. How to get rid of this problem? 2. Can one DELETE ALL *.gz files in /mnt/usbdisk/FOLDER/rdiff-backup-data so that rdiff- backup creates it from scratch? Any help appreciated! Thank you very much in advance!
