More specifically, it aims to develop new machine/deep learning-based tools that can predict chemicals’ environmental impacts (climate change potential, energy demand, etc.) from their molecular structures so as to enable chemists to design molecules with as low environmental impacts as possible. The project will be built on an existing tool, Finechem based on 10 molecular descriptors and neural network technique; the Finechem tool has quite some limitations that we would hope to overcome in this project.
