Wrenches,
Thanks for all the info on this topic today. Big question for me is. What are 3,000 (manufacturer claimed) deep cycles at 100% DOD worth vs 2,000 real world 80% DOD cycles on a HUP battery when the AHI battery's voltage drops below inverter operating voltage range at 50% (more or less) DOD? How would the AHI battery ever be discharged to 0% when the inverter cannot operate at such a low voltage? My customer wants 33,600 Wh of usable storage power. So, what do we need in Amp Hours of Aqueous Hybrid Ion's to give us a usable 1,400 AH @ 24V? I would think we need 67,200 Watt hours of rated power vs. about 42,0000 Wh of HUP batteries. I'll be very interested to see the pricing on this battery bank, which I am expecting tomorrow. I don't know of anything else that's comparable on the market these days with those kinds of specs. If it performs as advertises, it's hot stuff.and not cheap. marco From: RE-wrenches [mailto:re-wrenches-boun...@lists.re-wrenches.org] On Behalf Of b...@midnitesolar.com Sent: Monday, November 10, 2014 10:03 AM To: RE-wrenches Subject: Re: [RE-wrenches] Aqueous Hybrid Ion batteries Yes, that voltage range is a problem but it has evidently been improving. It used to be much worse. We will see. boB On 11/10/2014 11:37 AM, Baxter, Gary wrote: We have been asked to lower the DC input voltage to take advantage of these batteries. What engineering is saying is we can't go low enough on the low side and still produce peak AC voltage. Seems these batteries are catching on might need to revisit this again.
