Make sure it does not have any 'eco-throttle' setting engaged. This is a feature where it idles down when there is no load detected - I think it is an option on this model too.

I tried to do this today with a 2000 EU, and the inverter would not accept the power. The generator has low hours on it. Does anyone know why the two won't sync?
