Drake, I have had great luck just using an Iota battery charger with the Honda Generators. Just pick a charger with an amp rating suitable for the continuous output rating of the generator. My standard grid time with backup system uses the Honda 2000i with an Iota charger. The nice thing about a separate battery charger is that no house loads hit the generator. Solves the problem of needing a large generator to handle a well pump. Also there are no settings for the homeowner to mess up. It may be a slow charge rate for a large battery bank but any equalizing or quick charges are handled by the grid tie inverter and the grid or the MX60 or whatever and a decent sized solar array.
