Randy,
I'm a small time installer but have installed a system at a sewer
pumping plant, the contents of which are open to the atmosphere. The system
is only some three years old so does not represent much of a test case.
However, before one would be too concerned about the problems your
prospective customer is expressing, I would look at wind direction,
proximity and whether the PVs will be close to a roof or a "Top-of-Pole"
type installation to assess adequate ventilation, maybe whether or not other
factors may contribute such as coastal environment. Maybe most important,
does he have any mold-growth issues at his place currentl?
Just some thoughts.

Subject: [RE-wrenches] Installation Environment, Mold
Wrenches,
Hope your days are going well. We have a prospective customer (adjacent
to
a sewer treatment plant) who is concerned that there may be an issue with
mold growth on or under the PVL laminate modules that we are planning to
install. The PVL module datasheet states that the adhesive has a microbial
inhibitor but the customer does not believe that inhibitor alone will
prevent mold from growing on, under or around the modules. The customer
also suggests that the environment will be more acidic than typical. They
have inquired as to how the pv equipment may be affected by these items
over
the installation's lifetime. So, does anyone have industry experience
with
either or both of these environmental concerns? How might the customer's
concerns be addressed/alleviated? Thanks much.
Thank you,
Randy Hatch
