There are a few names on this list whom I consider masters of our
craft, who know their topics and whose posts I read with deference
and respect. I usually learn something useful. I think of Darryl
Thayer, Bill Brooks, Roy Butler, Phil Undercuffler, Kent Osterberg,
Doug Pratt and a few others...and Matt Lafferty. And few can write
as entertainingly as Matt, although sometimes I wish his posts were
