My findings are spot on with Bob's the lights almost go out in the house
when a load comes on and it does not have to be a big load. The Magnum
4448 120/240 inverter has probably the slowest regulation of any of the
big players. Is it an issue? I can only say on my installs if the
customer has never had an inverter before they are happy. My personal
house ran on this particular inverter for about 2 years and the things I
noticed I could not run my electric wood splitter and I would
occasionally have the microwave clock reset to blinking 0000's. I did
recently replace the Magnum with a pair of outbacks not so much because
of the regulation but RF noise we run a 6 meter ham radio repeater here
and I had a s9 on the input frequency as well as an arcing noise when
the inverter was powered up we tried many ideas to clean this up.
Twisting battery cables and shielding them toroid s on the ac/dc lines
etc. The end all was Outbacks now there is 0-S1 on the input frequency
and channel 2 on our TV would not work on the Magnum (2 is very close to
6 meter's in frequency) so as a bonus I get to watch channel 2.
The magnum line is a great bang for your buck and is manufactured in the
USA but if either of these issues are of importance to you do some
homework.
