I'm pretty sure it was a local guy that sell really cheap "energy solutions" products. AIMS inverters and used charge controllers. This guy has a reputation around the area for bad work. From the digging I have been doing he has an electrician on staff that does the electrical portion of the work. I'm guessing He was sick that day.....
