Yes. Just finished doing a 30 KW SnapNRack ground mount system on land that was far from graded with a DeWalt unit. Mine was a borrowed unit and was a bubble leveled model but the new model - DW074D - is self leveling. The laser with a battery powered target is a life saver. String is fine for alignment but useless for setting a level over a real distance. Do get the laser target, you won't see the light outdoors during sunlit days. The Dewalt tripod is also a good buy. Our 70' rows are exactly level, you can sight along the modules with no undulation.
Mine ran off 3 x D cells, and they lasted for days. We set the laser up every day, leveled it off the benchmark and left it running all the time. The bump sensor was too sensitive for outdoor use. http://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DW074KD-Leveling-Interior-Exterior/dp/B001CC8TLW/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1343516371&sr=8-11&keywords=dewalt+laser Chris On Sat, Jul 28, 2012 at 6:46 PM, Jay Peltz <[email protected]> wrote: > > Hi all > > Any recommendations for a laser to use instead a string line. > > Thanks > > Jay > Peltz power > > Sent from my iPhone > > On Jul 28, 2012, at 4:15 PM, Kirpal Khalsa <[email protected]> wrote: > > Todd.....Dean Abney...Abney Electrix.....is the company.... > > -- > Sunny Regards, > Kirpal Khalsa > NABCEP Certified Solar PV Installer > Renewable Energy Systems > www.oregonsolarworks.com > 541-218-0201 m > 541-592-3958 o > > On Sat, Jul 28, 2012 at 12:22 PM, Todd Cory <[email protected]>wrote: > >> ** >> i remember a thread awhile back about a good company in southern oregon >> who repaired trace dr/sw inverters. >> >> can someone refresh my aging memory please? >> >> thanks, >> >> todd cory >> >> _______________________________________________ >> List sponsored by Home Power magazine >> >> List Address: [email protected] >> >> Options & settings: >> http://lists.re-wrenches.org/options.cgi/re-wrenches-re-wrenches.org >> >> List-Archive: >> http://lists.re-wrenches.org/pipermail/re-wrenches-re-wrenches.org >> >> List rules & etiquette: >> www.re-wrenches.org/etiquette.htm >> >> Check out participant bios: >> www.members.re-wrenches.org >> >> >> > > > _______________________________________________ > List sponsored by Home Power magazine > > List Address: [email protected] > > Options & settings: > http://lists.re-wrenches.org/options.cgi/re-wrenches-re-wrenches.org > > List-Archive: > http://lists.re-wrenches.org/pipermail/re-wrenches-re-wrenches.org > > List rules & etiquette: > www.re-wrenches.org/etiquette.htm > > Check out participant bios: > www.members.re-wrenches.org > > > _______________________________________________ > List sponsored by Home Power magazine > > List Address: [email protected] > > Options & settings: > http://lists.re-wrenches.org/options.cgi/re-wrenches-re-wrenches.org > > List-Archive: > http://lists.re-wrenches.org/pipermail/re-wrenches-re-wrenches.org > > List rules & etiquette: > www.re-wrenches.org/etiquette.htm > > Check out participant bios: > www.members.re-wrenches.org > > > -- Chris Mason President, Comet Systems Ltd www.cometenergysystems.com Cell: 264.235.5670 Skype: netconcepts
