I've seen a video a solar installer friend of mine made of a similar unsuited
disconnect trying to break a high VDC string of modules. The disconnect opened
and the arc was able to jump the gap and start the insulation of the conductor
on fire.

Has anyone seen/heard of the square D not extinguishing an arc when using only
one pole?
