Two more things: those RoT figures were for 3-wire capacitor-start motors; 2-wire motors are considered much harder to start. So that in itself may change the scenario. You write "should we plan on pulling out the pump?" My suggestion: tell the customer that you expect to have to replace it, and to have his checkbook ready. Then try it and see. If it won't run it, he already is prepared to spend his money and you look wise and prescient. If it works, he's saved money and is happy, and you're a hero. Allan Allan Sindelar
