Fellow wrenches,
We have been involved with several remote village installs where the
kids like to throw rocks at PV panels. I've had reports that the PV
installs with Solarworld Sunmodule Protect series PV panels installed in
nearby villages have taken direct hits from rocks with zero apparent
damage. They've been in for about a year.
I didn't believe the hype on them - especially the marketing video from
Solarworld but now that they've lasted a year with bored kids trying to
break them - they must be pretty tough.
