Jay, One other consideration to mitigate morning/afternoon shading is to wire the array one string east side, one string west side and use an SMA TL with its 2 separate tracking inputs. This is assuming your shading is from east and west located obstacles...as the morning sun hits the west string, you'll have full output in that string, esp with opti-track. Same in afternoon. Not quite as granular as micros or optimizers but an option. Simple. You'll also have 1500 watts of power without batteries when the grid fails.

Same effect as micro inverters...easy to implememt. Kirpal Khalsa Oregon Solarworks On Oct 26, 2015 12:48 AM, "jay" <jay.pe...@gmail.com> wrote: Thanks all for the great info. I’ve got some pretty good morning afternoon shading so micros make better sense than the Galvo, but I”ll check that out. And I’ve got some really great pricing on some 72 cell 280 watt modules. Yea I’ve heard the ABB are a nightmare. I’ve got no experience or info on the APS. Anybody else have any besides Benn? Enphase don’t have one. This is on my old house. Still has a AEI-GC-1000. The modules have got to come off as well as they are old mobil’s. All just about dead. I’ve got a good deal on 72cell, 280 watt modules, so trying to find a micro for that or maybe a small And its only for 1500-2000 watts max. Thats all I can fit. thanks jay _______________________________________________ List sponsored by Redwood Alliance List Address: RE-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org Change listserver email address & settings: http://lists.re-wrenches.org/options.cgi/re-wrenches-re-wrenches.org List-Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/re-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org/maillist.html List rules & etiquette: www.re-wrenches.org/etiquette.htm Check out or update participant bios: www.members.re-wrenches.org _______________________________________________ List sponsored by Redwood Alliance List Address: RE-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org Change listserver email address & settings: http://lists.re-wrenches.org/options.cgi/re-wrenches-re-wrenches.org List-Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/re-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org/maillist.html List rules & etiquette: www.re-wrenches.org/etiquette.htm Check out or update participant bios: www.members.re-wrenches.org _______________________________________________ List sponsored by Redwood Alliance List Address: RE-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org Change listserver email address & settings: http://lists.re-wrenches.org/options.cgi/re-wrenches-re-wrenches.org List-Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/re-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org/maillist.html List rules & etiquette: www.re-wrenches.org/etiquette.htm Check out or update participant bios: www.members.re-wrenches.org ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ List sponsored by Redwood Alliance List Address: RE-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org Change listserver email address & settings: http://lists.re-wrenches.org/options.cgi/re-wrenches-re-wrenches.org List-Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/re-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org/maillist.html List rules & etiquette: www.re-wrenches.org/etiquette.htm Check out or update participant bios: www.members.re-wrenches.org
