Gary,
Is this an off-grid system? In any case, there is no reason that connecting
the generator through the Radian means the batteries will charge
automatically.  And to not use the native charging capabilities of the
Radian doesn't make much sense financially or functionally.  Any other
charger will either not charge the bank very well or will add substantial
cost and control issues.
