Hello, Chad Waits & all~ Prism Solar has a facility right there in Tucson, Chad...so you can check them out. Prism builds frameless PV laminates with bifacial cells & a clear backer sheet. In addition to a 60 cell version they also have the same jumbo size laminate with only 48 cells so more daylight can get through. Mix & match?
http://www.prismsolar.com/contact.php Be sure to report your opinions & experience back to us Wrenchies. Corporate provenance regarding Prism is among my big questions: are they making a sustainable profit? Is there a wealthy parent company? I'm also curious about where their products are built. With your strong sales prospect right there in Tucson, Chad, you're ideally situated to suss out these issues...& help us all. If any friendly folk might be traveling from the Tucson area to SW Colorado, I'd sort of like to buy a Prism sample for show & tell...so if anyone could safely transport same...I'll pay for the help. I know the company through whom I would buy the laminate but it seems crazy for me to motor freight a single unit...especially since it's another of my "maybe I'll find a customer who'll buy it" gambles. BTW for those who wrote about other brands: Panasonic bifacial/clear backer seems unavailable stateside for 2016. Solarworld is showing a bifacial/clear backer product in their literature but having built one demo project these also seem unavailable stateside for 2016. The Wrench List is the bomb!
