Tump:
The M series are a steel jacketed, flooded battery, which is what I thought we were discussing. Deka also makes the Unigy line of AGM batteries, to which I believe you are referring. They have also worked well for us, making Deka/MK a one-stop shop for us. For you trying these Unigy batteries for the first time, be aware of the differences between interlocking and non-interlocking racking. One can be placed against a wall and one you cannot. And I assume you meant ‘seismic.’ William [image: Gradient Cap_mini] Lic 773985 millersolar.com <http://www.millersolar.com/> 805-438-5600 *From:* Tump [mailto:[email protected]] *Sent:* Friday, June 08, 2018 12:42 PM *To:* [email protected]; RE-wrenches *Subject:* Re: [RE-wrenches] steel cased industrial batteries I have them in my own home and use them when I spec AGM batteries. The steel enclosures, gives you a vertical battery bank, making for a smaller foot print. Once you get the hang of installing the individual cells, they work well, look great. Also semitic rating can be obtained by using the interloc cases. Pictures and installation suggestions available off list. Instead I am very pleased with Deka/MK M-series steel jacketed batteries. They require minimal maintenance and hold up well over time. They're made by Enersys. I have yet to see a failed cell. I'm backing away from IBE (which I have in my own home), as just this week one longtime client has a second failed cell (out of 24) on a seven-year-old set. He takes meticulous care of them too. The first one several years ago we replaced. This time we bypassed it and are running a 46V system as we look at lithium ion. There are many brands out there, HUP, IBE, Enersys, others? Its been a while since I’ve had to even look at them and I figured someone out there has some current info, recommendations, best price etc. thanks jay peltz power -- *Allan Sindelar* [email protected] NABCEP Certified PV Installation Professional New Mexico EE98J Journeyman Electrician Founder (Retired), Positive Energy, Inc. *505 780-2738 cell* _______________________________________________ List sponsored by Redwood Alliance List Address: [email protected] Change listserver email address & settings: http://lists.re-wrenches.org/options.cgi/re-wrenches-re-wrenches.org List-Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/maillist.html List rules & etiquette: www.re-wrenches.org/etiquette.htm Check out or update participant bios: www.members.re-wrenches.org *[email protected] <blocked::mailto:[email protected]%22%20%5Co%20%22blocked::mailto:[email protected]>* *www.SWNL.net* <blocked::http://www.swnl.net/%22%20%5Co%20%22blocked::http://www.swnl.net/> Solarwinds Northernlights * Serving Mid Coast Maine & Northern California* * 207-832-7574 Cl. 610-517-8401 * *Blair "TUMP" May* * ******** MAINE'S CHARTER ******** ** NABCEP "Certified PV Installer"* * ******** MAINE'S CHARTER ******** ** Trace Xantrex "Certified" Dealer / Installer"*
