Hi David,

For Offgrid it varies from do whatever you want because
there is no inspection to my philosophy of always exceeding code and using
decades of offgrid common sense. Many Offgrid homes do not have someone to
help because they often are remotely located.

I would like to add on to
your request here because I am seeing alot of people thinking/installing
batteries in the conditioned space of a home. I have always believed that
unless the battery was listed for conditioned space, (some Li Ion are) that
it was a bad idea to do this. Not to mention insurance not covering a claim
in a fire. Thx. --Dave / Offgrid Solar

What is the current code requirements
around the country for required signage for a residence/business with
back-up battery storage?

        * For a home with a grid-tied PV system with
back-up battery bank in the basement.
        * For an off-grid home with a stand
alone power system.
        * For a business.

I am volunteering to help fire
departments in northern Vermont deal with emergency fire response on homes
and businesses that may have solar and other alternative power sources.

Thanks,
