I've touched their equipment. It is still sort of a fledgeling it seems, but
they have a great engineering department and they have some pretty cool
features from what I have gathered so far.

EMP hardening, and testing to back it up (a cheaper version is available
without this feature)

Compatability with most all battery chemistries

Rule21 approved (For CA)

For me, the biggest feature was a 9kW inverter that handles 20kW surges 😳

Quite a few other good attributes as well. With the few drawbacks I can see so
far being a relatively small connection space for wiring, needs for better
monitoring platform. They are awesome on the phone with support, and are
constantly evolving the equipment.

Subject: Re: [RE-wrenches] Sol-Ark Inverter?

Ray,
   I just quoted an off-grid project using the Sol-Ark. I use Alt-E for a
supplier and they suggest the Midnite solar Mini-DC disconnect for the battery.
 They
have heard good things about it and I am going against my previous requirement
using one first or at least seeing one in action before making my customer the
guinea pig.
I will know in a few weeks how it works out.

I just had a customer get a quote for a Sol-Ark inverter from an online
sales outfit. Does anyone have any experience with them, ever seen one,
installed them, etc? From the limited info I can see, they do not
appear to have a UL listed battery disconnect system; I'm seeing flying
battery cables in the few actual install pics. They also claim to be
"EMP hardened".
