Allen,
Specific to Blue Ion, no I have not heard this but there are cases of LFP going bad on the internet. Can you open the Blue Ion front panel and test for a stronger smell? If so I would start looking at temperature. Compare the different banks? Is the smell there all of the time or during charging? The client is happy with the batteries' performance. However, he recently sent me the following question: Have you heard anything about the Blue Ion batteries generating an odor? We have had an odor in the barn ever since the batteries went in. It is a subtle, slightly rotten smell. We have searched for dead mice and other such things and have found nothing. The correlation with the battery installation is starting to become more important. Since we use the barn for a number of things (including guest sleeping and Susan sewing), this is a non-trivial issue. I don't know if you have much sense of smell, so we don't expect you to come over an sniff. I would like to know if you have heard of anyone else observing this. I haven't heard of any such issue but offered to post his query here. Has anyone else among us heard of a "subtle, slightly rotten smell" from a Blue Ion installation?
