You probably already checked this, but have you made sure the transfer
switch wasn't switched to bypass? Also, you didn't mention the age of
the system. I've seen quite a few Outbacks requiring rebuilds at 9+
years. Usually the control board, but the relays on the AC board can
get cooked, if there are too many loads on backup, and of course the FET
boards can go too. I started changing all the boards and the fan too,
as I've had to come back 6 months later to replace a different board or
fan. Reminds me of rebuilt carburetors....

wrenches,
i have a GVFX3648 that is acting weird,
rather then the mate normally showing:
AC <-> DC which shows the inverter's total power processing,
minus "AC load"
equals "Selling"
now the AC <-> DC shows nothing and "AC load" = "Selling" are
identical (both track the same level of load and selling)
the unit is still selling, but the transformer is running hot and
humming louder then normal... fet and cap temps are normal.
question:
is this the ac board
or the control board
i have spares for both but don't want to replace things that still
work fine.
thanks,
todd
