Hi Wayne, Jerry, and Wrenches, The statements made about IQ not being compatible with legacy Envoy-S systems is mostly true, but that does not apply to the microinverters listed on the Enphase store. The M215 and M250 micro kits that are listed on the Enphase store include a communications adapter cable that changes the PLC signals from L-L to L-N. There are also modifications to the inverter to allow it to talk at the same frequency (144kHz) as the Envoy-S.
The adapter cable also allows the microinverter to plug into the legacy Engage cables and talk to the legacy Envoy-S. We sell 40 drop lengths of the portrait Engage cable (ET10-240) as well as Engage Terminators, Engage Seals, Engage wire clips, and Engage Accessory Kits (which include the Disconnect Tools) These are legacy components are available at an online store here: https://store.enphase.com/storefront/ Note: the M215 and M250 microinverters do not have the ability to perform advanced grid functions (AGF) functions. These micros can be used for small expansion systems, but for larger expansions it makes sense to just install an IQ Envoy (second Envoy) at the site. You can have two Envoys and put them on a single Enlighten "System". Be thoughtful about how you configure the consumption CTs when you have two Envoys. If you have two Envoys, the production from the two Production CTs (and Consumption CTs) will be added in the cloud and will display correctly. You need to be careful though if the production from one system is on the load side of the other systems consumption CTs. That production will throw off the consumption readings. You can fix that by installing a second set of parallel connected consumption CTs backwards on the production circuit to subtract that production from the consumption CT readings Cordially, Nick Soleil Enphase Energy Senior Product Manager (707) 763-4784 x7267 // office (707) 321-2937 // cell Powering What’s Next™ | The Enphase Energy Management System<https://enphase.com/en-us/products-and-services/envoy> NABCEP Certified Solar PV Installer #03262011-300 California C10 Licensed Electrician #986315 ________________________________ From: RE-wrenches <re-wrenches-boun...@lists.re-wrenches.org> on behalf of Jerry Shafer <jerrysgarag...@gmail.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 10, 2020 5:14 PM To: RE-wrenches <re-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org> Subject: Re: [RE-wrenches] Old & new Enphase communication issues EXTERNAL EMAIL - Use caution when responding, clicking, and/or downloading attachments.
