The inverters have a pretty tight frequency range, I have adjusted gennys to run out of that tight range, they just keep waiting for the frequency to come back. I can take a little tinkering on some models but even 57 hz is enough if your Hawaii with the HECo rule or California. You can go over too but if there is a lug it may still connect the inverter.
