Thanks Corey,
I probably will use the Skybox without the battery for the client future. He will have to change out a well pump to a softstart pump later if he wants batteries. BTW Schneider XWP and CSW can run without the transformers in a zero export mode. They run an amp on the primary to always keep from selling. XWP can also have the power meter if one wants to really drop the very small loss. But, you do have a battery, which is why I will probably use the Skybox. He also is an old friend. I may have a consult for you if my client makes his decision on Eleuthera Bahamas or Jamaica. He wants palm trees.... Whether the power meter and/or control device are built-in or external varies by manufacturer. See attached diagrams for several examples by popular manufacturers: * Sol-Ark: both power meter and control device appear* to be built-in * * I have never actually worked with Sol-Ark equipment, so someone please correct if this is not the case. * SolarEdge: control device is built-in, power meter is external * SMA: both power meter and control device are external You'll note the presence of CTs in each diagram. Both SMA [3] and SolarEdge [4] offer 6 kW inverters; Sol-Ark [5] appears to only offer only 8 kW and 12 kW options. -- Corey Shalanski Jah Light Solar Portland, Jamaica On Sat, Apr 10, 2021 at 8:41 AM wrote: Hi Wrenches, I do not see much grid-tie and never with a battery less inverter. I have a client who wants me to explore zero export for them. I have looked at http://www.elgrispower.com/ [7] Is there such a thing in a medium size 6 KW Grid inverter built-in that can zero export? Or, Do I have to externally wire power meters ect? Thank-you !
