Honestly we see pretty steady failures of the old VFX series too. 5 to
10 years, then rebuilds. The rebuild boards do not seem to be as robust
either, we just had one fail after a little over a year. The failure
rate definitely seems to correspond to grid tie systems with either
large arrays or large loads in the backup.

there are VFX3524M Marine version’s available. I have no experience
with the Marine version. Can the Marine model work in an off grid home?
I see in the spec sheet that the VFX3524M has a listed AC Input
Current Max of 30A while the regular VFX3524 is listed at 60A.
