I have a Generac EcoGen 6kW LP gas genset in my neighborhood that I’m maintaining. It’s been in service for over 12 years and it has 3,200 hours on it. I see that I missed the recommended 2,500 hour service for changing the alternator rotor brushes. My question is how critical is it that the brushes are changed soon? Would we be risking any damage to the generator by waiting until spring, about another 250 hrs?
